About this site

I’m a dork who has traded my health and my relationships for countless hours playing sports video games. I look down on other dorks when they talk about Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto or Legend of Zelda or especially Assassin’s Creed. If they play RPGs, I don’t look at them at all. They’re dorks of the lowest order. But I appreciate RPGers, because as long as I’m above someone, I can live.

Some time ago, it occurred to me that old sports games are remarkably cheap, and even a crummy game seemed worth my $2, just so I could see what it was like. In my childhood, I regularly paid $3.50 just to rent a crummy game for the weekend, and that was when my net worth was in the double figures. So, as an adult, I now live my childhood fantasy: owning a few hundred video games, for less money than it costs to support a bad beef jerky habit.

I started the site in 2017. I figured I could do a better job sharing opinions on sports games than all the other dorks who write about video games on the internet. And I happen to enjoy doing it, and if you’re here, I guess you’re into it too. High five.
