Pro Sport Hockey

Super Nintendo
Released in 1994 by Jaleco
Grade: F

I’d rather play Oregon Trail.

Where it falls in the series

Jaleco made this and a NES game of the same name, and that was it for their hockey efforts.

Gripes

This game’s constant slowdown and choppiness makes it seem like an 80’s PC game that was rushed onto a SNES cartridge without any quality assurance. Pretty inexcusable for a late 16-bit era release.

Even if they somehow fixed that, the bad control, physics, AI, and game logic would still make this game rather unplayable anyway.

The whole thing is out of whack and unnatural. You lose control when you’re skating. Passes and shots are delayed. Collisions are a mess. The graphics are harsh on the eyes, and why are there stripes on the ice?

Ignore this one even if it’s being sold for a quarter in the ultra bargain bin.
